​Guidance for Social Prescribing Link Workers on Engaging with Gypsy,
Roma and Traveller Communities (June 2024)

This guidance represents the first ever pool of information regarding Gypsy, Roma and Traveller awareness and experiences of social prescribing services in the UK. As part of the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance Programme and together with Friends, Families and Travellers, Roma Support Group has created guidance to enable social prescribing link workers to effectively engage with and support members of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities and work towards reducing health inequalities.

Enablers of Digital Inclusion in Primary Care for Gypsy, Roma and
Traveller Communities (June 2024)

As part of the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance Programme and together with Friends, Families and Travellers, Roma Support Group has created this report to provide insights into the extent of digital exclusion for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, as well as key enablers to support digital inclusion. It also presents an overview over general use of primary care services and extent of access to primary care services through digital means. It also gathered experiences and factors that contribute to Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people’s ability to access primary care services through digital means as well as barriers
preventing that.

Tackling Mental Health Inequalities for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller People
(May 2024)

As part of the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance Programme and together with Friends, Families and Travellers, Roma Support Group has created guidance for professionals supporting people in Roma, Gypsy and Traveller communities. It aims to: improve knowledge of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller inequalities around accessing mental health services; improve understanding of how to approach mental health within Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities from a healthcare perspective and provide suggestions on how to ensure Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people are included in the planning and provision of mental health
services.

Tackling Maternal Health Inequalities in Gypsy, Roma and Traveller
Communities (May 2023)

As part of the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance Programme and together with Friends, Families and Travellers, Roma Support Group has created guidance designed to offer insights into the experiences of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities relating to maternity, and improve knowledge and understanding of how to approach the planning and provision of maternity services for these groups.

​SPOTLIGHT: Improving Inclusion Health Outcomes (April 2023)

As part of the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance Programme, Roma Support Group has supported the Office for Health Inclusion and Disparities to develop SPOTLIGHT, a new, public, data sharing platform which presents key statistics related to the public health outcomes of inclusion health groups. This summary paper reflects our main findings through the engagement with people with lived experiences from the inclusion health groups.

Roma Health Guide (2021)

Roma Support Group has developed a guide to help health and care professionals better understand health inequalities and barriers to accessing healthcare for the Roma community in the UK, take action to improve services and build a relationship with the community. The guide provides actionable suggestions for good practice, developed with partners in the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance, and focuses on practical action for frontline health practitioners, team leaders and commissioners working with Roma communities.
