2021 GRTHM Art Competition
As in 2020, in 2021 the Roma Support Group celebrated GRTHM with an art competition for children and young people. Our aim is to showcase the richness of Roma culture, talent and creativity of children and young people.
We thank everyone who submitted their work. The video below shares entries we received from young Roma and announces the winners. All these artworks are also displayed in our online gallery.

GRTHM 2021 event
Roma Support Group marked the 2021 Gypsy, Roma, Traveller History Month through an event organised in collaboration with London Gypsy and Traveller, Traveller Movement, STAG Supporting Travellers and Gypsies. ACERT and supported by Mayor of London.
The event introduced a discussion on the current Police Bill proposal and celebrated the culture of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities through live music and contributions from GRT artists.

GRTHM City Hall Blog
Accompanying the 2021 GRTHM event, Roma Support Group was invited to write a blog for the City Hall website. It focuses on the history of Gypsies, Roma and Travellers in the UK, the current political context and directs readers to a range of resources on GRT history and culture.

Roma anthem - Gelem Gelem
"Gelem, Gelem" was composed by Serbian Romani musician, Zarko Jovanovic, after experiencing deportation and incarceration during the Holocaust. The song was adopted as Roma anthem by the first World Romani Congress held in 1971.
This video was recorded by young Roma who are joining the Roma Youth Club coordinated by the Roma Aspiration Project at Roma Support Group to mark the 2021 Gypsy, Roma, Traveller History Month.:
