Colours of Hope: A Little Book by Roma Refugee Children for Everybody

Picture
Responding to overwhelming demand for the book Colours of Hope, which was first published by the RSG in 2003 and sold out last year, we have now reprinted new copies for sale. A pictorial book over 60 pages long written and illustrated by Roma refugee and asylum-seeking children from all over London. Unlike many other books dealing with refugee issues, Colours of Hope does not focus solely on racism and hardship.  It also combines a range of topics, such as identity, impressions of life in London, family, culture and expectations for the future. The theme of the book sheds light on the aspirations, dreams and hopes of Roma children and it can be used in schools, libraries and other organisations to promote tolerance and a better understanding of this fascinating culture.

Key Stage 2/3
